The Royal Orchid Metropole is a heritage home style hotel. Our upgraded room was a sparsely furnished cavernous space.
Still, it was comfortable and the high-ceilinged room felt quite luxurious with large wooden doors leading to a private patio overlooking the front gardens.
The scale of the bathroom completely dwarfed the minimal fixtures. In room complimentary wifi.
The courtyard terrace is a pleasant place to dine. For dinner we tried their Indian fare and found the service slow but friendly. Food was reasonably good and fairly priced, but we’ve had better. Tasted the tandoor pomfret along with dal, veg biryani and naan. They hotel also has a lunch buffet and a light a la cart lunch option in the terrace café. The breakfast buffet is the usual mix of Indian and western options, more limited that at some other large hotels, but they do have an egg station that makes nice omelets.
